The Rabbits' Christmas Party: The Arrival by Beatrix Potter, c 1892. This is the first in Beatrix Potter's delightful series of four exquisite paintings titled The Rabbits' Christmas Party. The paintings in this series were critically acclaimed and are today considered among Miss Potter's finest works, if not her finest of all.

Wonderful as an art tile, you may also frame it into a trivet (you can easily hang the trivet on the wall when it's not in use. As there is nothing overtly suggesting Christmas other than the title and the topcoats which hint at snow, this art tile or trivet can be displayed year round if you wish, or at least through the winter months if you like to change your home decor with the seasons.

Three Rabbits Eating Plenty of Buns by Beatrix Potter, painted in the early to mid 1890s.

A delightful painting of three bunnies eating, yes, plenty of buns! I love her ingenious use of lettering which spells out the message "Merry Christmas and Plenty of Buns." And liking good puns the way I do, I also love the play on words (buns like you eat and "buns" as a short form of "bunnies"). Beatrix Potter normally signed her works with her three initials in the lower right corner, but she continued the playful use of lettering in this particular painting and placed them on the key ring tag instead, which I find quite charming.

Wonderful as an art tile, you may also frame it into a trivet (you can easily hang the trivet on the wall when it's not in use. A charming way to bring a little Christmas into the kitchen.
